Two more people are now in custody in connection with a robbery at London's Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a 23-year-old woman was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals are still being held, the force said.
These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.
A three-year-old girl was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Police detained a 31-year-old man on suspicion of theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.
Authorities were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals hurt by a noxious substance thought to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking facility briefly.
